Everyday Heroes: dog tricks for a superstar paw-formance!

It seems that dogs are taking over Hollywood this February! We've been won over by the lovable charm of Uggie in The Artist and thoroughly enjoyed all the glitz and glamour of the first ever Golden Collar Awards, where acting dogs were at last honoured with their own nominations and trophies.

Dogs in TV and film need to know lots of special moves to deliver a convincing performance, but it may not be as difficult as you think to teach your four-legged friend a few new tricks. Check out our training guides below and let us know how you get on!

Roll Over

Lie Down

Shake paws

Close doors

Walk Backwards

Each month we’ll be celebrating the dogs that are Everyday Heroes to people all over the UK, and sharing more information about the amazing work they do. This February, we're taking a look at the talented canine stars of stage and screen: acting dogs! Follow We’re For Dogs on Facebook and Twitter to find out more about their fantastic work.

Pee-yew! Avoid doggy breath- introduce your pup to a toothbrush early. They'll thank you with a big, beautiful smile. http://t.co/TIu1QzX7 About 6 hours ago
