Taking your dog or puppy in to work

If your dog spends all day on their own at home while you’re at work, taking them with you can seem like a great solution. It’ll depend what your job is, of course, but many workplaces will consider a request to bring your dog with you. Think it through carefully and consider these points:

  • Check with your colleagues – is anyone allergic to or very scared of dogs?
  • Check with your boss – are dogs allowed in your office by law?
  • Good obedience skills are essential – barking, biting and ‘accidents’ won’t go down well in any workplaces.
  • The office isn’t a playground – your dog will need to sit quietly and let people get on with their work.

If everyone in the office is happy, then you could soon be spending the day with your dog at your desk.
