We dearly love our canine companions but you wouldn’t always think
so from the way we feed them. Your dog needs a balanced diet and regular
exercise as much as you do. Yet canine obesity is increasingly common, and
the reason? Overfeeding.
If you think your dog is overweight, you’re probably
giving him too much food. He might have a medical problem
like hypothyroidism, he might be a susceptible breed, but,
whatever the reason, it’s your responsibility to
do something about it before he ends up with serious health
problems. And the first step is: some simple checks to
see if he really is obese.
Believe it or not, dogs need dental care as much as people do. And,
just like people, they have to have their teeth regularly brushed and
cleaned.
It’s not just vanity. Neglecting your dog’s teeth can lead
to serious health problems. Your vet can give him a thorough check-up
and a clean but you also need to monitor his dental condition for yourself.
And regular brushing and specially designed chews can help to keep his
mouth in tip-top condition.
